Compare the whole installed choice
Look at the surface, supporting structure, fixings, edge details and maintenance together. A board you like may have installation requirements that affect the build. Check current supplier information for the specific product and ask the builder to assess it for the site. Do not assume a board swap is suitable for existing framing.

Before selecting boards
- Name the exact products in any price comparison.
- Include installation and associated structure in the scope.
- Read care guidance rather than assuming maintenance-free use.
- Discuss shade, leaf fall, weather exposure and daily use.
- Keep product and care documents for handover.
One cleaning rule does not fit every composite
TimberTech’s care guidance distinguishes between different product collections, while BiForm publishes its own instructions. Use the document for your selected board. A cleaning or repair method suitable for one product should not be assumed suitable for another.
Is composite always the cheaper option over time?
There is no universal answer for every product and household. Compare the installed scope, expected care, product terms and how long you intend to use the deck. This guide does not assume a service life, maintenance cost or supplier relationship for Fix All.
