Give everyone the same information
Keep one current layout drawing and one appliance schedule. When a selection changes, update the record and tell the people affected. A different fridge, sink or cooktop may alter more than the cabinet beside it. Confirm who coordinates information between the kitchen supplier, builder and relevant trades before orders are final.

Prepare the household as well as the room
- Decide where food, utensils and small appliances will be stored.
- Agree a practical temporary food-preparation area away from the work.
- Clear the delivery route and identify secure storage for new items.
- Record retained appliances and who will move or disconnect them.
- Ask when key decisions are due and how changes are approved.
An appliance change has a chain of effects
If you change from the agreed fridge to a wider model, do more than update a shopping list. Ask the kitchen supplier to confirm the opening, door movement and surrounding joinery. Let the team know before manufacturing or room preparation depends on the earlier dimensions.
Can I leave splashback selection until later?
Ask which decisions affect preparation, measurements or scheduling. You may have time to choose some finishes later, but the team needs to know what it is preparing for. Record a decision date instead of leaving an item indefinitely undecided.
